Asmet Elezovski, executive director of NRC, said that this day is marked throughout Europe to commemorate more than 3,000 killed Roma between 2 and 3 August at the concentration camp in Auschwitz. During World War II, Roma were killed in gas chambers in several concentration camps, and in some places not even one Roma was left alive.
Elezovski emphasized that Roma from the Balkans have not received compensation, as is the case with Roma in other countries.
-It is an obligation under the signature of the first people of Germany that recognized the genocide and I hope that this will reach to people who lead the funds, and it will stop the more open racism against Roma, although they were never instigators of any conflict, wars terrorist acts, on the contrary they have always been pacifists and strive to integrate into the community, said Elezovski.
He asked through the media, cooperation with the Jewish community in Macedonia for joint marking of this day.
