In the frames of the project “Promotion social inclusion of young people in marginalized rural Roma communities”, The National Roma Centrum organized a national conference on the subject “The path to a social inclusion of young Roma – desires and opportunities”. The project is financed by the European Commission and it is being implemented in partnership with the Centre for multiethnic dialogue and tolerance “Amalipe” from Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria and “Liga Pro Europa” from Târgu Mureş, Romania.

The aim of this conference was the actualization of the politics for better efficiency of the social inclusion of young Roma from the marginalized rural communities.

The project is directed toward development, testing and evaluation of the socially original approach of the fight against social exclusion of young people in rural communities in Bulgaria, Romania and Macedonia, with a particular consideration of the young people from the marginalized Roma communities. The project presumes that poverty and lack of democratic traditions are not the only reasons for social exclusion, but also the lack of social structures in the frames of the local communities. The project promotes development of Centers for support in the communities and other original forms of social services in the marginalized rural Roma communities. In the frames of the project, there have been established and methodologically supported four Centers for support of the communities in Bulgaria, one in Romania and one in Macedonia.
