The Mayor Risteski expressed satisfaction and support for NRC’s urges in the field of education and housing.
On the 24.08.2011 representatives from NRC realized a meeting with the Mayor of Prilep, Mr. Marjan Risteski. Information was exchanged at the meeting about the condition of Roma in Prilep, as well as opportunities for cooperation between the municipality and NRC.
Also possibilities were reviewed about keeping the mediators in the education process in primary education as a significant link for cooperation between Roma parents and schools as well as for improving of attendance and success of Roma pupils.
In regards to legalization of illegal constructions, the Mayor showed significant interest about NRC’s activities “Legalization of Roma homes – Macedonia, phase one”. A conclusion was brought for mutual intensifying of activities, in order to increase the number of submitted requests by Roma until the end of the dead line, 3rd September 2011.
