Within the project “Social inclusion of Roma people and Roma returnees in Macedonia” National Roma Centrum with the financial support of “We effect” distributed 500 school packages to Roma first graders in Kumanovo, Stip, Kocani, Veles, Prilep and Kicevo.

Smiling children’s faces, curious eyes, confused answers to the questions in Macedonian language … looking through open children’s nurseries asking whether it may play with toys. Playing while parents sign the necessary documents and then choosing the color of school bag – yellow, orange, red, blue or green. A backpack contains basic school supplies – crayons, markers, pencil, eraser, plasticine and 3 notebooks. With a backpack on their backs and hand in hand with the parent they are leaving the center promising to come again soon.
