The campaign aims to reduce stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination in the education system and also to promote equality of Roma culture, history and traditions in cooperation with primary and secondary schools in Kumanovo.

NRC as a member of the European anti-racist movement EGAM of France began celebrating Roma Pride and the campaign ENOUGH! “Go beyond prejudice, meet the Roma” program of the Council of Europe. The campaign aims to reduce stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination in the education system and also to promote equality of Roma culture, history and traditions in cooperation with primary and secondary schools in Kumanovo. The activities are supported by the program “Europe for Citizens” of the European Commission.

The implementation of the activities started on 30 September by organizing a workshop with 60 students and 12 teachers from primary and secondary schools in Kumanovo. Despite the session on stereotypes and prejudices the students worked in groups where they defined slogans, quotes, sayings and creative works against stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination that were used for the main event and ultimately each school presented the results of the work group.

The main event took place on October 7 with the participation of over 120 students and teachers of art in primary and secondary schools in Kumanovo. On the happening all participants wrote quotes, sayings and created innovative works against stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination on shirts and canvas in order through art to influence the reduction of these feelings, attitudes and actions.

Activities within the campaign ENOUGH! “Go beyond prejudice, meet the Roma” is still ongoing. An exhibition of drawings on the theme “How much do you know Roma” made by pupils from primary and secondary schools is prepared and will be on display on the happening where certificates of participation will be awarded and officially a creative video will be promoted with the participants in the activities of Roma Pride campaign ENOUGH! “Go beyond prejudice, meet the Roma”
