NRC with huge respect for the casualties in the World War II National liberation struggle, on the occasion of November 11

On the occasion of November 11, the day of liberation of Kumanovo, numerous delegations, amoung which also a delegation of the National Roma Centrum led by the Executive Director Ashmet Elezovski laid flowers at the Kosturnica Memorial Center. The representative of NRC paid their decent respect to the participants in the National liberation struggle who gave their lives for free Kumanovo and Macedonia. Many delegations from the municipality, the Army, the Government, the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Internal, the Association of the fighters from the National liberation and anti-fascist struggle, the Council of the commune of Kumanovo, delegations of embassies, non-governmental organizations, schools and numerous citizens laid flowers in front of the monument of the heroes of this struggle.

“We paid our respect to the casualties of NOB (National liberation struggle). I must state that many Roma took participation in it and gave their lives for today free Macedonia, fighting against fascism, among them there was Rushit Shakir. NRC every year respects this day, by paying respect to all casualties in NOB no matter of their ethnic belonging, as NRC and as part of the European Roma Movement” – said Mr. Elezovski.

Beside the Minister of Internal, Mr. Oliver Spasovski, there was also Mrs. Luisa Winton, senior representative of UNDP, as well as delegations from twin cities of Banja Luka, Bjelina, Nikshic, Novi Sad, Kampina, Plovdiv, Gornji Milanovac, Kyustendil, Kriva Palanka.

On the occasion of the Kumanovo Liberation Day, 11 November, there was a solemn session organized by the Mayor and the Council of the commune of Kumanovo, where the delegation of NRC took participation among the other numerous delegations from the city and the country.
