Protecting and promoting the rights of different ethnic communities are guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Macedonia.<\/p>\n<p>However, the integration of smaller communities in the economic, political and social spheres of the country has proved to be a particular challenge since the independence of the state, more than two decades ago. Although Macedonia has inherited a relatively broad framework in respect of the rights of ethnic communities, some challenges still remain.
