The National Roma Centrum prepared the Strategic plan for a period of five years in order to clearly determine the directions for development of the organization in accordance with the needs of the community. \ufeff<\/p>\n

NRC’s vision is an integrative and tolerant society, educated Roma, prosperity and benefits, equal approach to rights for all and improving of the quality of life of the target group. NRC’s vision is based on universal standards and practices of the civil society.<\/p>\n

NRC’s mission is to act as a recognizable actor in creating of public policies, as a representative for enabling of equal approach to everyone’s rights and a promoter for applying of European values, through direct field work, research, public debates and initiatives for change of legislation.<\/p>\n

One of NRC\u2019s greatest successes is establishing cooperation with a large number of state and international institutions and organizations, citizens\u2019 associations, foundations and the Roma community.<\/p>\n

We cooperate with (1) international organizations: SOROS Foundation<\/a> through programs from Budapest: Roma Initiative Office<\/a>, Roma Health Project<\/a>, Program for EU \u2013 monitoring and representation; Roma Education Fund<\/a>; European Roma and Travelers Forum – Strasbourg<\/a>; European Roma Rights Center – Budapest<\/a>; OSCE<\/a>; FARE<\/a> and United Against Racism<\/a>, (2) government institutions- Ministry of education, State Education Inspectorate, Board for development and promotion of education of languages, Ministry of interior, Ministry of justice \u2013 Board for keeping registries, Public health institute, Bar Association of Macedonia and Ministry of labor and social works and\u00a0 (3) local self governments in 15 cities in Macedonia.<\/p>\n

NRC representatives are creators and movers of the international Roma movement in Europe.<\/p>\n

NRC has realized its greatest achievements through:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Campaign for education of Roma \u201cThe key is our hands<\/strong>\u201d, financed by the Roma Education Fund;<\/li>\n
  2. \u201cProsperity and health of Roma women<\/strong>\u201d which is being realized witihin the frames of the Women Health Program of OSI Budapest<\/li>\n
  3. \u201cEmancipation of Roma women, emancipation of the Roma community<\/strong>\u201d supported by RPP Budapest<\/li>\n
  4. \u201cFree legal assistance<\/strong>\u201d which is being realized in cooperation with the Bar Association of Macedonia.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Through these activities NRC increased the number of Roma first graders in a period of three years and we enrolled over 4.000 first graders in\u00a0 15 cities in Macedonia. For 582 Roma women and their families we provided personal documentation, provided legal advice to more then 2,500 persons, we organized over 120 lectures regarding health in 4 cities in R. Macedonia in the last 2 years.<\/p>\n

    One of the greatest pleasures from our work is that we established successful communication with the targeted citizens, which results in at least 50 citizens, to whom free legal assistance is provided, that visit our office on daily basis.<\/p>\n

    In its work so far, NRC has conducted over 40 projects for which 500 thousand EUR have been spent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
